
Tuna Melt on Sourdough

Ingredients:
For the Tuna Salad:
• 🐟 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
• 🥄 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 🧅 1 tablespoon red onion, finely chopped
• 🥒 1 tablespoon dill pickle relish (optional)
• 🍋 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 🧂 Pinch of salt and black pepper
For the Sandwich:
• 🍞 4 slices sourdough bread
• 🧈 2 tablespoons butter, softened
• 🧀 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
• 🥬 4 leaves lettuce (optional)
• 🍅 4 slices tomato (optional)

Instructions:
1. Make the Tuna Salad:
o In a bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, red onion, dill pickle relish, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
o Mix well until evenly combined.
2. Assemble the Sandwich:
o Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
o On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer 1 slice of cheese, followed by half the tuna salad mixture, lettuce, tomato (if using), and another slice of cheese.
o Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered-side up.
3. Grill the Sandwich:
o Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
o Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
4. Serve:
o Slice each sandwich in half diagonally and serve warm.
